On 27th April, Europlatforms Vice-President Alberto Milotti and General Secretary Jesus Sanchez Sanvicente met Mrs Barbara Thaler at European Parliament in Brussels to present the Association and the key role of freight villages in supporting the development of European transport in the light of the upcoming new TEN-T Regulation.
Key questions raised during the meeting with the rapporteur of the proposed new regulation included the importance to emphasise the role of intermodal transport, the integration of the rail freight corridors and the role of cross-border connections: all of them are going to represent essential elements ensuring the strength and success of European logistics in the future as well as to meet the Green Deal goals.
Alberto Milotti, Marketing and Development Director of Interporto Quadrante Europa Verona and Europlatforms Vice-President, sees interactions between EP and Europlatforms as a fundamental activity aimed at raising the attention on the role of our platforms: «The status and needs of intermodal transport must be strongly tackled within the new regulation, thus achieving consistently stable fairway conditions for our terminals in a wider and competitive market which can be pursued also by working in close cooperation with EP activities”
